HR Manager

Location: Newmarket, ON

On behalf of our client, we are looking for HR Manager, full time position, reporting to the Director Human Resources, this role demands strong interpersonal skills, ability to deal with ambiguity and the desire to implement innovative people solutions to our client agencies.

People Strategy & Performance management & development:

  • Support Director in preparing and delivering talent mapping and succession planning sessions with Leadership teams
  • Support end to end management of performance issues, grievances, complaints, claims and investigations
  • Provide professional, business focused, day-to-day people & culture services including performance management, grievance resolution, recruitment coordination, salary review advice
  • Provide sound advice and support to teams and managers ensuring decisions are based on awareness of all associated people risks, and those issues are handled fairly and with due process and best practice
  • Responsible for On-boarding and Off-boarding, Culture and Employee Engagement and Administration.


Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a Human Resources role (ideally in a multi-site, matrix organisation)
  • Experience across the whole employee lifecycle including recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, manager development, remuneration and benefits, employee relations and off-boarding
  • Intermediate working knowledge of employment law, including the Employment Standards Act, with the ability to apply this knowledge in workplace situations
  • Knowledge of visas and immigration (desirable)
  • Comfortable with the flexibility, fluidity and constant change and often ambiguity that the industry brings
  • A creative thinker, always considering new ways, better ways to do things and comfortable working in an environment where we always challenge the status quo
  • You show up, each and every day with professionalism, attention to detail, strong follow up, time management, clear communication and problem resolution skills
  • Able to manage sensitive information with discretion, acting diplomatic and tactful when dealing with delicate situations
